Competition Team Dance Shoes
August 12th, 2011
We have gotten lots of questions regarding Tap and Jazz shoes for this season.Teachers will not know what color Jazz shoes the dancers will need until January after costumes have been selected. We do require all competitive dancers to have the same brand and style shoe. We also highly recommend the dancers practice in the same type of shoe that they will be performing in. That being said, here are the name and item # of the shoes from Discount Dance Supply, so you can look them up online or take the item # to the store when you go to purchase them.
Jazz Shoes:
Bloch Super Jazz Shoe…kids item # S0401G and the adult item # S0401L; we recommend using black for class because they do not show the dirt as much as the tan ones. If you already have jazz shoes you do not need to go out and buy new ones right now; however we do ask that everyone has the correct style of shoe by the time we return from Christmas break in January (at the latest), because the dancers will need to break in the new shoes a little bit.
Tap Shoes:
After some discussion between all the staff we have decided on requiring ALL competitors to purchase the same tap shoe, this helps to create a uniform look as well as a uniform sound, it is important to have quality tap shoes since we are no longer at a beginning level in either of our tap routine classes. If you have already purchased new shoes for this season, if you only wore them for the first week you may be able to return them?? If not, the dancers should get these shoes as soon as possible, but again no later than when we return from Christmas break in January.
Bloch Tap Flex Shoe (these do have laces)…kids item # S0388G and the adult item # is S0388L
